CASE2 – Consortium for Arctic Seismic Exploration
is a national consortium with the objective to conduct research on passive and active geophysical monitoring of spatial and temporal changes in subsurface properties due to permafrost cooling, warming, aggradation and degradation. Seismic is the main geophysical method employed, but with resistivity and ground penetrating radar (GPR) serving as supplementary techniques to measure permafrost, groundwater table and discontinuities in permafrost conditions.
